"Tom is an awesome and honest guy. He does great work and is someone that you can feel comfortable with being in your space, around your kids, etc. An important trait for a handyman. He fills an incredibly important void right now of all the work that needs get done that you can’t get contractors and sub-contractors to even look at. He can come in and take care of the list of small projects and repairs you don’t have the time and/or expertise to do yourself. After 25 years of being the ‘Beer Guy’, working at the Harpoon Brewery, I am now ‘Handyman Tom’.
I once read in Reader’s Digest that to be successful in a career you should do what you loved when you were 12 years old. I wasn’t drinking beer back then, so other than playing sports (not a career option for me), I spent my time building forts in the woods behind our house, with scrap lumber from new houses being built in our neighborhood.
I have loved building, renovating, and repairing things ever since. In addition to my high school and college summer job construction experience, my wife and I did much of the work renovating several homes. I was inspired to follow my passion, and start Handyman Tom Brayer, while doing repairs to help one of my real estate clients prepare their home for sale.
